What is the September 11th Remembrance 5K?
The September 11th Remembrance 5K was created to honor the 9/11 victims, their families and all those who survived. By participating, you also show continued allegiance to our country’s first responders and military. All proceeds go toward future 5Ks and the upkeep of the City’s 9/11 Memorial site located outside the Northwest Regional Library.
How far is the September 11th Remembrance 5K?
This is a 5K (3.1 miles)
Will I receive a medal?
Yes. All participants who finish the race will receive a medal along with the overall age groups detailed on www.Active.com
Can I get a timing chip?
Yes, everyone who registers will receive a timing chip.
Can I register the day of the run?
Yes, registration will take place from 6 to 7:15 a.m. There will be an additional $5 charge for race day registration.
When does online registration close?
Online registration will close on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:59 pm.
Is there transportation to and from the event?
Is there free parking available?
Yes. Free parking is available in the back area of the Northwest Regional Library and the Coral Springs Charter School, both within walking distance of the race site.
Where can I pick up my packet?
Packet pick up will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Runners Depot from 11a.m. to 5p.m. Runners Depot is located on 5679 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs.
Will I receive a packet if I register the day of the race?
Yes, every registered participant will be receiving a packet, however tee shirt sizes may be limited.
What is included in the packet?
A bib, timing chip, t-shirt and a power bar.
Where are all the proceeds from the race going towards?
All proceeds will go toward future September 11th Memorial services and toward maintenance of the Memorial site.
Do I have to wear my bib number?
Yes, please display it on the front of your outermost garment. Those who run without a bib will be escorted off the course and not allowed to finish.
Will water be available?
Yes. Water stations will be available along the route and at the finish line.
What can I bring to the event?
Backpacks and diaper bags are allowed, but not during the run.
If I have a backpack, what do I do with it?
Backpacks or other personal items should be stored securely at the owner's risk. The City of Coral Springs will not be responsible for the loss of any items.
Can I run with a stroller?
Can I participate using roller blades or a bicycle?
Are pets allowed?
Will there be any closed roads during the event?
2800-3300 University Drive will be closed from 6a.m. through 9 a.m.
