Roberto ("Rob") Hernandez, ICMA-CM, serves as a deputy city manager and assists the city manager in overseeing the city's day-to-day operations.
Prior to joining the City of Coral Springs, Mr. Hernandez served as deputy county manager for Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia where he oversaw the departments of police, fire-rescue, parks, emergency management, emergency communications, public works, development services, child attorney and the jail re-entry program. In addition, he functioned as the liaison between the County Manager's Office and the the county's justice system. He has also served as assistant to the county administrator for Broward County, Florida. Further, Mr. Hernandez has served in a number of roles with local governments.
Mr. Hernandez retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2008 after a 23-year career, most recently serving as a senior instructor in civil-military operations.
Rob holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University and Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Florida International University. He is a graduate of the Broward Fire Academy and the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.
