Commissioner Dan Daley

Dan DaleyDan Daley has called Coral Springs home since 2001. As a small business owner in the Coral Springs, Dan has a vested interest in the economic development opportunities in Coral Springs. His own small business, Equine Excellence Enterprises, sells horse products across Florida and the Northeast. Acutely aware of the current economic climate and having a desire to improve employment opportunities for the city, Dan has worked on the Customer Involved Government Committee; focusing on efforts to create a database to show potential businesses the workforce Coral Springs has to offer.

Dan has a history of public service, and believes that it is the cornerstone of our community. He served with the United States Air Force as a contracted cadet with the Reserve Officer Training Corps, and been involved with several charities that support the soldiers serving our country and their families. During the more than ten (10) years that Dan worked with the United States Air Force Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol), he left a lasting impact on countless teenagers, the majority of which live in Coral Springs. Today he plays an active role on the board of AMI Kids of Greater Fort Lauderdale, an alternative day treatment school for juvenile offenders, and serves on the board of Friends of the Broward Sexual Assault Treatment Center.

Dan has a firsthand knowledge of the workings of our state government, and ways to make state and local governments work better for those that they serve. He worked for the Florida House of Representatives from 2009-2012 for State Representative Ari Abraham Porth. During that time Dan has been instrumental in helping to pass smart legislation such as the Jeffrey Klee Memorial Act (named after a young Coral Springs man who lost his life), which eliminated the statute of limitations on murder or manslaughter in civil cases. Dan’s work has also focused on issues facing the homeless community, and legislation that eventually led to the creation of the Office of the Inspector General in Broward County, a position that targets government waste and corruption.

Dan is a graduate of Florida State University, with Cum Laude Honors in a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Criminology, and was the first in his family to graduate from college. Dan lives in his hometown of Coral Springs with his chocolate Labrador, Molly.
