Assistant Chief Juan Cardona

Assistant Chief Juan Cardona first joined the Coral Springs Fire Department in September of 1997 as a firefighter paramedic. He spent the first several years of his career as part of a crew on a rescue truck and on a fire engine. Chief Cardona has held several positions within the fire department. He was promoted to lieutenant in charge of a rescue company, later to driver engineer, and then to captain in charge of a station. He was later promoted to battalion chief in charge of A-shift, and since June of 2012 has occupied the position of division chief in charge of EMS.

Chief Cardona holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Management from Nova Southeastern University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He is also certified as a State of Florida Fire Service Instructor 3.
