"Quitters Are Winners" - Anti-Tobacco Program

The Coral Springs Police Department is proud to provide the Quitters are Winners, Anti-Tobacco course to juveniles who receive state violation citations for possession of tobacco. Our goal is to inform juveniles of why and how to stop tobacco use. The course is court ordered by the North Satellite Court Judges hearing tobacco statue violations. Each juvenile pays a course fee of twenty-five dollars to attend the four-hour class, that meets on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the City of Coral Springs, City Hall, 9551 W. Sample Rd. Students are presented with information on the harmful effects and the extreme addiction of tobacco use. This information is presented by a Law Enforcement Officer, Nurse Practitioner, and a Guest Speaker form the American Cancer Society, who describes the devastating effects that smoking has had on his life. Students leave the class with an increased knowledge, and most with a goal to stop smoking.
