Captain George Soberon began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1994. He served as a Patrol Officer until 1998, at which time he transferred to the Tactical and Gang Unit where he spent 5 years as a Tactical Officer. In 2003, he was transferred to the General Investigations Unit where he spent two years as a Detective. In 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As a Sergeant he supervised a platoon on Patrol, the Bicycle Unit and the Substations Unit. In 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he supervised a Patrol Platoon. He was promoted to Captain in 2011. He oversaw the Special Operations Component, which includes The Bicycle and Substations Unit, Tactical and Gang Unit, the Burglary Enforcement and Reduction Unit, and the Humane Unit. He is currently the Captain of the Patrol Division. Captain Soberon was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team from 1996 through 2012, serving in various positions, including Team Leader.
Captain Soberon graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Business Management. He attended Class #250 of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and was deployed to Desert Storm in 1991. He separated from the U.S. Army holding the rank of Captain.
