Captain George Soberon began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1994. He served as a Patrol Officer until 1998, at which time he transferred to the Tactical and Gang Unit where he spent 5 years as a Tactical Officer. In 2003, he was transferred to the General Investigations Unit where he spent two years as a Detective. In 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As a Sergeant he supervised Patrol, Bicycle Unit and the Substations. Lieutenant Soberon has also been a member of the Special Response Team since 1996 and is currently a Team Leader. In 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he supervised Patrol. He was promoted to Captain in 2011 and is currently overseeing the Special Operations Component. Captain Soberon has also been a member of the Special Response Team since 1996 and is currently a Team Leader.
Captain Soberon graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Business Management. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and was deployed to Desert Storm in 1991. He separated from the U.S. Army holding the rank of Captain.
