Deputy Chief Pustizzi began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1988. Deputy Chief Pustizzi served as a Patrol Officer until 1993, at which time he transferred to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a Detective. Deputy Chief Pustizzi was promoted to the Rank of Sergeant in 1995. During his tenure as Sergeant, he served as Supervisor to a wide variety of Units within the Agency including Patrol, the Field Training Program, and Criminal Investigations. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2003 and served as the Criminal Investigations Unit Commander, which included General and Special Investigations, Youth Liaison, Criminal Identification, Vice Intelligence and Narcotics. In 2005, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police overseeing the Operations Division. He was selected to the Special Response Team in 1990 and was named Commander of the Special Response Team in 1997, where he served until 2005. Deputy Chief Pustizzi now oversees the Administration Division.
Deputy Chief Pustizzi earned his B.A. Degree in Criminology from the University of Florida and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Additionally, Deputy Chief Pustizzi is a g raduate of Southern Police Institute Command Officers Course, the Criminal Justice Executive Leaders Course, and is a Graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is also an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Florida Police Chiefs Association and the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association.
