Why did you pursue a career in Law Enforcement?
Coming from the military, I chose this career because it was comparable to the work environment in which I had become accustomed to. After serving my country I still felt a great desire to serve my community so the opportunity to do so presented itself largely in the Law Enforcement career field.
Why did you choose to work for the Coral Springs Police Department?
I chose to work for the Coral Springs Police Department because as a department we strive to have strong positive ties with the local community. Additionally, in achieving that goal the department is also largely dedicated to promoting and participating in the growth of each of its officers.
What is your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of the job would be the gratifying feeling that warms your heart when you have had the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life. More gratifying than that is the knowledge that a young person’s life has been changed for the better because of our intervention.
What do you like to do outside of work to alleviate the stress encountered on the job?
I like to spend as much time with family and friends as possible. I also enjoy scrapbooking, reading, and learning about photography.
Do you have any words of encouragement or advice for prospective minority and/or female applicants about becoming a police officer?
I would encourage prospective applicants to pursue this career with a positive attitude. Most importantly each prospective applicant should understand that this is not simply a job but it is a lifestyle that will forever impact who you are presently and who you will grow to become as your career progresses. Take full advantage of the learning opportunities presented to you and always have an open mind.
