Traffic Unit

Currently, there are nine uniformed motorcycle officers and a sergeant in the Traffic Unit. Additionally, the unit has a part-time officer assigned to the City’s Red Light Camera program, three part-time parking enforcement specialists, and one volunteer who assists in the City's traffic calming program. The officers assigned to the Traffic Unit are responsible for enforcing all state and local traffic laws and ordinances. The officers also investigate motor vehicle crashes, and are on call 24 hours a day to handle all traffic crashes involving fatalities.
