The Northwest District is a diversified area of Coral Springs. District neighborhoods are comprised of multi-family and single family housing, bordered by local businesses and an industrial complex. All of these have joined to make a family-oriented community. Some of the prominent attractions include: Heron Bay TPC Golf Course; Coral Springs Country Club; Coral Springs Tennis and Aquatics Center; and Sportsplex, which includes several sports related attractions. There are five elementary schools and one middle school, along with numerous city parks throughout the district. All of these support the unity of the district by instilling pride and respect for the community in which the residents live, work and raise their families.
The Police Department has entered into a partnership with the community and placed a substation manned by police officers at 3540 NW 114 Lane, which is centrally located within the district. The substation is manned by Officer Carla Gorman (954-344-1805) and Officer Dave WInd (954-344-1813). The concept of Community-Oriented Policing is highly promoted and is practiced throughout the Northwest District. Using this concept, the City and Police Department work together with the community in addressing problems and concerns of district residents. The quality of life for residents living in the Northwest District is very important and will always be addressed to make it a happy and safe environment for all who live in and visit the area. |
