JACARANDA

This attractive flowering tree is native to Brazil. It can grow to be 40 feet tall and is often used as a colorful highlight in larger landscaping projects. The tree is sometimes also referred to as Fern Tree due to the feathery leaves. It grows well in a wide range of soil conditions but it is not salt or frost tolerant.

The extensive planting of Jacaranda trees in Pretoria, South Africa have given this city the title of Jacaranda City and the Jacaranda has been incorporated into the cities logo.
