The Coral Springs Fire Department will be giving Santa a special ride in one of its fire trucks to Coral Springs Medical Center on December 14, 2006 so he can deliver toys and teddy bears to kids who will be spending Christmas in the hospital this year. As part of CSMC’s annual teddy bear parade, Santa is set to arrive on a fire truck and deliver toys and bears, and then make a special donation of teddy bears to the Coral Springs Fire Department, to be given to kids during emergency calls. The bears have been an important part of pediatric patient care for many years, soothing the minds of young children during scary times. The bears ease the tension in children who may have otherwise never been in contact with emergency personnel. The teddy bear parade is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Fire Station 80, 2801 Coral Springs Drive. Santa will then be transported to CSMC for the event.
