On Tuesday, January 16, the City Commission recognized the 25th graduating class of the Citizen’s Police Academy. The Coral Springs Citizen’s Police Academy provides residents with an overview of what actual police cadets learn during several months of intense training. Some of the topics discussed include budget, training, support units, violent crimes, property crimes, and special response teams. The City appreciates the time and effort the participants dedicated to our Police Department. Many of the class participants will move on to volunteering for the city in several capacities, including the Citizens Assisted Patrol Program. The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to any resident or business owner over the age of 18. The next session begins in March, and the Academy meets once a week for 13 weeks at the Public Safety Building. For more information, please call 954-346-1278.
