January 16, 2007: High School students are encouraged to sign up for UNITOWN 2007
The Coral Springs Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee is proud to announce “UNITOWN 2007” - a Youth Leadership and Diversity weekend designed for high school students from Coral Springs schools. UNITOWN is “A place to learn how each of us is different and discover how each of us is alike!” To enhance the diversity experience, students are invited to participate from the Cities of Lauderhill and North Lauderdale. This will be the eleventh year of this very successful program, which will be held at the Gold Coast Camp in Lake Worth, Florida from Saturday, February 17 to Monday, February 19, 2007. UNITOWN will be facilitated by the National Conference for Community and Justice, NCCJ, a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America. For the most part, we recruit freshmen, sophomores and juniors, but we may consider seniors as well. There is no charge to the students for the program as it is subsidized by local sponsors and the City of Coral Springs, but a $50.00 refundable deposit is required. Students who are interested in participating should contact Lydia Cutz at 954-344-1150.
