April 26, 2007: SwimAmerica Program Announces Spring Sessions
SwimAmerica, the learn-to-swim program of the American Swimming Coaches Association, announces their Spring III Session, which will take place from May 7 – June 2 at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, located at 12441 Royal Palm Boulevard. The session consists of eight 30-minute group lessons. The program is taught in ten stations, and every student progresses at his or her own rate, independent of other students’ development. SwimAmerica emphasizes the proper techniques of swimming and gives special care to correct breathing, body position, and good swimming strokes. The program teaches all four strokes, starts and turns and is an excellent preparation for those who wish to join a swim team. Swimmers must bring their swimsuit and towel to class, and girls are required to wear a swim cap. Goggles are optional. Swim caps and goggles can be purchased at the Swimshop at the Aquatic Complex. The cost is $100 for children ages 3 – 4, and $80 for children ages 5 and older. An annual registration of $25 per individual or $40 per family applies.
