A group of children in first through sixth grades recently completed the latest Rallyball Tennis session at Cypress Park Tennis Center in Coral Springs. Rallyball is a six-week program teaching youth the fundamentals of tennis while allowing them to compete in a team setting. “Ralleyball is a great program both as an introduction to tennis for the raw beginner and as a class for the students taking lessons to test their skills,” Tennis Director Kevin McCarthy said. Tristan Anderson, Zion Belmond, Michelle Sanchez, Morgan Schlarb, Megan Schimansky and Sarah Fernandez, all members of the team Servers, won the first and second grade division. Second place went to the Slicers, whose team members were Halie White, Kristen Anderson, Kayla Wymann, Jose Moncayo, Christian Reed, and Autumn Reed. The Deuces captured the third and fourth grade division title, thanks to team members Sammi Anderson, Victoria Martinez, Frankie Massaro, Tara Nenninger, Nicole Goridkov, and Manveen Dhillon. Second place went to Backhanders, whose team included Nick and Anna Kalinski, Brenna Liebovitz, Alaena Hildreth, Ryan Gootar and Joseph Morelli. The fifth and sixth grade champions were the Swingers. Team members included Nicole Sanchez, Taylor Daum, Nick Kroeger, Ricky Ramu, Emily Goss and Tyler Martinez. The Baseliners took second place with team members Lucas Lage, Nicholas Ruddy, Peter Tai, Nick Campanella, and Alex Ellington. The next session of Rallyball starts in the fall.
