The City Commission recognized Mary Boast for her dedication as a volunteer. Boast started as one of founders of Safety Town 21 years ago. Since its inception, Mary has seen thousands of children come through the program, and she finds the impact it has made on children’s lives most rewarding.
Keeping young children safe and preventing accidents and injuries are the main goals of Safety Town of Coral Springs, which is a partnership between the City of Coral Springs and the Kiwanis Club of Coral Springs-Parkland. Boast is the Program Coordinator of the summer Safety Town program, which is the first registered and accredited Safety Town program in the State of Florida.
“I know that there are so many parents that are so appreciative of the work that you’ve done,” Mayor Scott Brook said. “Thank you.”
Aside from being a freelance editor for a scientific publishing company, Boast volunteers an average of 30 hours a month.
