The City Commission has proclaimed September as Financial Literacy Month and is encouraging residents to develop and maintain healthy financial habits year-round.
The City will kick off this initiative with a Home Preservation Workshop offering foreclosure solutions on Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Center for the Arts located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive. Participants are asked to bring their mortgage documents along with current income verification. Lenders, counselors and other public service agencies will be available to meet with residents facing problems related to foreclosure.
The City will also help residents focus on their fiscal health through a a variety of tips and tools soon to be available on City media. In the meantime, residents who have questions about their money matters are encouraged to contact the Family Success Center. The County’s Family Success Centers are a one-stop source for information and services designed to help families set financial goals, sharpen learning skills and access other social services to build a stronger and healthier family. Located at 10077 N.W. 29th Street in Coral Springs, the Northwest Coral Springs Family Success Center, managed by Broward County’s Human Services Department Family Success Administration Division, serves residents in Coral Springs, Tamarac, Margate, North Lauderdale and Parkland.
