Volunteers play an important role in providing quality services to our residents, and through their caring efforts have given thousands of hours of service saving significant taxpayer dollars.
In return, the City of Coral Springs and the Customer-Involved Government Committee will be honoring three local volunteers in June for their committed efforts to enriching our City. Volunteers and residents are encouraged to fill out a nomination form, available at www.CoralSprings.org. Submission deadline is Thursday, April 30.
Volunteers help the City “bridge the gap” by providing important services and programs that might not normally receive funding. The Coral Springs Bridging the Gap Awards will be presented to the most outstanding volunteers in the following categories: 1) Work with senior citizens, 2) Work with youth, and 3) Work with mentoring.
“These wonderful citizens not only support the community directly, but save us millions of dollars annually,” Mayor Scott Brook said. “I always attribute a lot of our City’s well-being to the numerous volunteers that assist us and thought it was the least we could do to recognize those stars who shine the brightest in our volunteer community.”
This questionnaire will be used as a guide to help the review committee choose this year’s recipients. For more information, please call 954-344-1148.
