Contractors are set to begin milling and resurfacing portions of Sample Road starting Wednesday, June 17. This portion of the Sample Road improvements should last about two weeks.
Construction will take place from State Road 7 (441) to Rock Island Road. At times, crews will only have one lane of traffic open in each direction, so drivers are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
Tentatively, construction will last from 5 a.m. until 6 p.m. until completion of the resurfacing.
The milling and resurfacing are part of a more extensive Florida Department of Transportation Sample Road improvement project that will impact Coral Springs, Coconut Creek and Margate. Improvements include installing additional turn lanes at Rock Island and Sample roads; mast arm signals at Rock Island, Turtle Creek Drive and Perimeter Road; landscape and irrigation enhancements; and signage upgrades throughout. Construction is anticipated to end in December 2009.
