August 4, 2009: Shooting Suspect Arrested

The Coral Springs Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred on Saturday August 1st, 2009.


Nicholas Jean-Hilaire, 2/24/89, of North Lauderdale was arrested last night after a short foot pursuit with officers in Tamarac.


Following an argument that occurred approximately 7:30pm on Saturday at 3505 Riverside Drive (Lions Park), Jean-Hilaire shot a handgun at Monjoie Jeanty, 19, of Coral Springs and Robens Joseph, 22, of Boynton Beach.  Jeanty was shot once in the right kneecap and Robens Joseph was not injured.  Jeanty was transported to North Broward Medical Center where he was treated and released.


Jean-Hilaire is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder. He was transported to Broward County Main Jail.
