Shortly before 5:30am on Saturday May 7, 2005 Coral Springs Fire Department crews responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Coral Springs Drive just North of Wiles Road. When crews arrived, they found a small SUV struck a tree with a male patient trapped inside and the vehicle catching fire. Crews quickly tended to the patient while simultaneously attempting to control the fire.
A fuel line in the truck caused FD personnel to use specialty foam on the vehicle to keep the fire in check while Paramedics had to quickly remove the patient from the car before it was engulfed.
The patient suffered serious injuries and was rushed to North Broward Medical Center. Coral Springs Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
