The City Commission recognized local artist Janet Gold for being one of only four winners of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship Award for visual and media arts.
On May 1, the Broward County Commission’s Cultural Division recognized the winners of this esteemed, five-county artist fellowship award. This year’s selection was from a group of more than 300 applicants.
The artists were selected during a two-tier panel process, which includes the participation of regional and national art experts. Each winner received a $15,000 reward.
An exhibition featuring the works of the artists will be presented at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale from Saturday, July 12 through Tuesday, September 30.
