The National League of Cities recently appointed Mayor Scott J. Brook as Vice Chair of the League’s CityFutures Panel on Community and Regional Development. Working with Brook as vice chair is Ed Peterson, Councilmember from Lakewood, Colorado.
The appointments were announced following the Congress of Cities in Orlando, after which the League’s CityFutures Panel discussed transportation-land use integration, economic recovery, and innovative economic development strategies. Under the Board of Director’s leadership, members of the National League of Cities will also take a closer look at the foreclosure crisis, school reform, building infrastructure and planning for a sustainable future.
“I am honored to receive such a prestigious appointment and I am eager to help develop some progressive solutions for our community and communities across the nation in regards to community development and redevelopment,” Mayor Brook said.
The National League of Cities is the nation’s oldest and largest organization devoted to strengthening and promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance. NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns and villages, representing more than 218 million Americans.
