December 16, 2008: A “Tropical Paradise” Holiday Parade on December 17

Don’t miss your chance to go on a “Tropical Paradise” Holiday Parade along Sample Road at the City of Coral Springs annual holiday parade, which will celebrate the season on Wednesday, December 17 at 7 p.m.

The 2008 Holiday Parade will feature decorated floats and other entries with a tropical theme, and will proceed along Sample Road from Coral Springs Drive to City Hall. Our grand marshals this year will feature local Olympians.

Traditionally, the parade draws thousands of spectators and more than 75 floats, bands and walking groups. All groups, including local schools, civic organizations, and businesses are welcome to participate.

Spectators should plan to make a night of it, as businesses along the parade route are encouraged to stay open the night of the holiday parade to serve those watching the parade.

Much of the success of the City’s holiday parade is the result of generous corporate sponsors, including: Advanced Cable Communications, Awards Pro, Edco Awards, Country Club of Coral Springs, Sun-Sentinel, Wings Plus, Winterfest, George Poveromo’s World of Saltwater Fishing, Maroone Chrysler Jeep, Al Hendrickson Toyota, Maroone Ford, and Coral Springs Auto Mall.

Please note that Sample Road west of University Drive and east of NW 110th Avenue, and Coral Springs Drive north of NW 29th Street and south of NW 37th Street, will be closed on December 17 from 5 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m.

In case of rain, the parade will be held on Thursday, December 18. For more information, please call 954-345-2112 or visit coralsprings.org/holidayparade. To find out about becoming a parade volunteer, call Volunteer Services at 954-346-4430. For vendor information, call 954-345-2204. Vendor spaces are $30 for non-profit and $75 for businesses.
