Mayor Scott Brook was selected to serve on the 2007 National League of Cities Leadership Training Council. The Principal Mission of the Leadership Training Council is to provide guidance and direction of the National League of Cities' Leadership Training Institute and to serve as a vehicle for the National League of Cities leadership positions. Council members identify leadership development needs along with the professional trainers and recognized experts skilled in conducting the Leadership Training Institute seminars held in conjunction with the annual NLC Conferences. The Leadership Training Council consists of elected and appointed officials from across the United States. Council members, appointed by the President of the National League of Cities, serve a one-year term. The Leadership Training Council meets three times a year, at both of NLC's annual conferences and at the annual Leadership Summit to be held in September.
