Please join Vice Mayor Roy Gold, Chairman of the Historical Preservation Advisory Committee on Saturday, May 19 at noon, along with fellow Commissioners as they celebrate the completion of the Covered Bridge restorations. The bridge, damaged by Hurricane Wilma, went through a complete renovation to restore what has become the City’s most precious historical landmark. John Famularo, owner of ABC Roofing located in Coral Springs, has donated labor, materials and installation of the bridge’s roof, helping to lower the repair cost. Coral Springs artist Valmiro Tascon also donated in-kind services, which include a recreation of the original murals assisting in the City’s commitment to preserve the bridge’s historic significance. This brief ceremony will take place on the north side of the Covered Bridge (located on NW 95th Ave., off the south side of Wiles Road, one block west of University Drive). For detailed historical facts on the bridge, visit coralsprings.org/history/CoveredBridge.cfm. Please note that the grand opening date has been changed and will not be held on April 14, 2007.
