September 19, 2007: City honors Chamber achievement

The City Commission recognized the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce for its recent designation as a Florida certified chamber, the first chamber in Broward County to earn this distinction.

“This Chamber is huge, it’s over 500 members strong,” Vice Mayor Roy Gold said. ”For us in such a large county to have a chamber your size to represent us as well as you do is certainly appreciated. You’ve done great work. It’s another mark of quality for the City of Coral Springs.”

The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals honored the Coral Springs Chamber based on a series of strict criteria that establish high standards of excellence. Only 38 out of almost 300 state Chambers have this distinction as a certified chamber.

“This has been a long time coming, working toward this award,” said Mike DiTocco, chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Everyone has done a great job. It’s an incredible opportunity to represent the City of Coral Springs as the only certified chamber in Broward County.”
