January 17, 2008: Toddler Saved After Falling in Pool
 

A 3 year old boy was saved by his 7 year old sister and the teamwork of the Coral Springs Police Department.

 

On January 16, 2008, Coral Springs Police received a 911 call at approximately 2:51pm that a 3 year old was found floating in a swimming pool at 2460 NW 115 Drive.

 

Timothy Cathcart, 10/19/04 was found floating face down by his, Julia Cathcart, 4/8/00.  Julia ran inside and got her mother, Elian Cathcart, who removed Timothy from the pool.   Elian was given CPR instruction via an Emergency Medical Dispatch Guide Card provided by Coral Springs Police Call Taker Laurie Griffin.  A short time after Officer Jon Soares arrived and began CPR.  Officer Soares performed CPR for approximately 2 minutes resulting in Timothy being revived.

 

Timothy was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center where he was admitted overnight.
