January 11, 2008: Broward County Transit Announces Service Changes Effective January 13
 

Broward County Transit (BCT) is announcing service changes effective Sunday, January 13, 2008. Routes 42, 83 and 88 will no longer enter and stop on Coral Square Mall property at the request of the mall management; routes 2 and 62 will continue to stop on the mall property, and route 62 will extend service to northwest Coral Springs.
 
The service changes also include schedule revisions on weekdays and weekends; additional and extended trips; adjusted service frequency on departure and arrival times, and new time points.
 
Following is a list of the service changes with a brief description.
 
Route 42: Service will remain on Atlantic Boulevard and the route will be extended west to Coral Ridge Drive. Transfers to route 2 can be made at University Drive, to route 62 at Atlantic Boulevard west of Riverside Drive, and to route 88 at Coral Springs Drive and Atlantic Boulevard.  Direct transfers to route 83 can no longer be made.
 
New time points have been added at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Dixie Highway (westbound), Atlantic Boulevard and University Drive, and at Atlantic Boulevard and Coral Ridge Drive.
 
Route 62:  The route will be extended north when leaving the Coral Square Mall and travel east on Ramblewood Drive to Riverside Drive; north on Riverside Drive to Wiles Road; west on Wiles Road to University Drive; north on University Drive to Westview Drive.
 
Transfers to route 2 can be made at University Drive and Atlantic Boulevard, to route 42 on Atlantic Boulevard west of Riverside Drive, to route 83 at Royal Palm Boulevard and Riverside Drive, and to route 88 at Coral Springs Drive. New time points have been added at Atlantic Boulevard and University Drive, and at Westview Drive and University Drive.
 
Route 83: Service will no longer travel on University Drive and will remain on Royal Palm Boulevard. Transfers to route 2 can be made at University Drive, to route 62 at Riverside Drive, and to route 88 at Coral Springs Drive.  Direct transfers to route 42 can no longer be made. New time points have been added at Royal Palm Boulevard and University Drive.
 
Route 88: The bus will continue to travel north on Coral Springs Drive to Westview Drive, west to Coral Ridge Drive, north to Holmberg Road, and east to Pine Circle. Route 62 will now provide service along Riverside Drive. Transfers to routes 42 and 62 can be made at Atlantic Boulevard and Coral Springs Drive; to route 83 at Royal Palm Boulevard and Coral Springs Drive. Direct transfers to route 2 can only be made at the West Regional Terminal. New time points have been added at Atlantic Boulevard and Coral Springs Drive, and at Holmberg Road and Coral Ridge Drive.
 
The City’s Community Bus Service is free within Coral Springs, and runs seven days a week. This service could be used in conjunction with connections to Broward County Transit Routes 2, 34, 62, 83 and 88. Riders making the connection with BCT will need to pay the appropriate fares.

The City’s Community Bus has two routes. The Blue route circles the south end and includes stops at the City Gymnasium, Coral Square Mall and Coral Springs Medical Center. Both the green and blue routes make stops on the hour at the northeast corner of the Sample Road and University Drive intersection, allowing riders to change buses. It takes approximately an hour to make one loop, but please keep in mind that traffic conditions may cause the bus to arrive slightly early or late.
