Just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday September 20, Coral Springs Fire Department crews were called to the scene of a house fire at 6506 Brighton Court in Parkland. When crews arrived they were faced with heavy smoke and flames from the home. Firefighters quickly made access to the home and began to knock down the fire. Fire crews were forced to cut a hole in the roof due to the intense heat in order to free the hot gasses. A family dog was brought out of the home and paramedics rendered aid, supplying oxygen and other care. The dog was taken to a local animal hospital for evaluation and is expected to recover. Damage to the home was severe. Coral Springs fire investigators and the state Fire Marshals Office are investigating the cause of the fire. No other injuries reported to civilians or fire personnel.
