June 25, 2007: Programs for Special Populations
Physically and mentally challenged individuals are invited to participate in the following fun-filled social events: Friday Night Dinner Club The Friday Night Dinner Club is designed for adults with physical and mental disabilities to engage in socialization in a restaurant setting. This event will take place Friday, September 21, October 19, November 16 and December 21. Cost is $10 and does not include the cost of food. All programs meet at Sartory Senior Center in Mullins Park, located at 10000 NW 29 Street, between Sample Road and Royal Palm Boulevard, just east of Coral Springs Drive. Fall 2007 Bowling The City of Coral Springs is sponsoring bowling for children, teens and adults with disabilities on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 PM and 5:30 to 7 PM at Don Carter’s Tamarac Lanes, located at 8501 North University Drive. Bowlers should be at least ten years of age. The monthly fee for September, October, and November is $30; in December, the monthly fee is $22.50 and includes the game, shoes and supervision. There will be no bowling on October 31 or December 26. Space in this program is limited, so registration is required prior to attending a session. Participants can register at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive. For more information, call 954-345-2200. Boogie Down Dances This popular event is scheduled for Friday nights on July 6, September 7, October 5, November 2 and December 7 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the Sartory Senior Center in Mullins Park, located at 10000 NW 29 Street. Admission is $4 per person and includes entertainment, refreshments and prizes. The July and September dances will remain $3 per person. For additional information, call 954-345-2200.
