July 3, 2007: Road resurfacing delayed due to weather

As part of the City’s Road Resurfacing Program, work was expected to begin the week of June 25 in the southwest section of Coral Springs, but  has been delayed due to weather. Work is now expected to begin late July or early August. The City’s program maintains public roads in usable condition and extends the life of the road at the most efficient cost.

Streets in Cypress Run, located north of Lakeview Drive, were originally installed in 1978, and roads north of Atlantic Boulevard between Coral Springs and Coral Ridge Drives, were originally built in 1980. This will be the first time these roads have been resurfaced since their initial installation.

Weekly Asphalt Paving, Inc., who is also working with Broward County on resurfacing Atlantic Boulevard, will use recycled asphalt concrete and is expected to complete the project within 90 days.

During resurfacing, one road will be closed to traffic in each direction. Please use caution when traveling through this area.

For more information, please call City Engineering Inspector Walter Collins at 954-345-2167.
