A group of children in first through sixth grades recently completed the latest Rallyball Tennis session at Cypress Park Tennis Center in Coral Springs. Rallyball is a six-week program teaching youth the fundamentals of tennis while allowing them to compete in a team setting.
“Rallyball is great for children to test their tennis skills in a fun, game-based environment,” Tennis Director Kevin McCarthy said.
Ben Campanella, Jamie Charmes, Madison Bobes, Emily Goridkov, and Stephanie Javens, all members of team Servers, won the first and second grade division. Second place honors went to the Spinners, whose team members were Michael Moore, Moises Lobaton, Brandon Abzug, Tristan Anderson, Manuela Rojas, and Jillian Bourdage.
The Aces captured the third and fourth grade division title, thanks to team members Sammi Anderson, Madison Sehr, Mike Campanella, Kristen Tabia, Alana Goodman and Christian Reed. Second place went to Topspin, whose team included Anthony Giordano, Matt Molk, Chance Witte, Alexandra Nagales, Amanda Cuomo, and Matthew Breiner.
The fifth and sixth grade champions were the Slammers. Team members were Taylor Daum, Adam Safran, Manveen Dhillon, Nicky Kroeger and Harrison Ure. The Slicers took second place in the division with team members Nicholas Ruddy, Alex Ellington, Nick Campanella, Bradley Hinton, Peter Tai and Emily Goss.
