The American Red Cross, in partnership with the City of Coral Springs, is now offering a Lifeguard Training Course, as a part of the Red Cross’ Community Awareness Courses. Students in this course will receive training in recognizing and responding to aquatic emergencies, and basic first aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Students must attend all classes, which are designed for ages 15 and up. Students must also pass a pre-test in order to qualify. At the end of the course, participants will obtain certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training.
The cost for this three-week program is $200. The next session will begin Tuesday, November 6 and run through November 27. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 PM at the Aquatic Complex and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM at Mullins Park Pool.
