10-30-2007 Fire Destroys Home

Shortly before midnight on Monday October 29th, 2007 Coral Springs Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire at 5940 NW 55th Manor.  Neighbors told 9-1-1 operators that the house was fully engulfed in flames.  When crews arrived they discovered heavy smoke and fire from the home.  The fire had already breached the roof, and flames were seen from several blocks away.  The fire was so intense that fire personnel could not enter the home; they had to fight the fire from the outside.  It took approximately thirty minutes to extinguish the fire.  Investigators from the Coral Springs Fire Department and Coral Springs Police Department are still on the scene gathering clues as to what sparked this blaze.  This fire is being ruled as “suspicious” at this time.
