November 5, 2007: High School students encouraged to sign up for UNITOWN 2008

The Coral Springs Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee is proud to announce “UNITOWN 2008” - a Youth Leadership and Diversity weekend designed for Coral Springs high school students. UNITOWN is “a place to learn how each of us is different and discover how each of us is alike.”   To enhance the diversity experience, students from the City of Lauderhill are also invited to participate.

This will be the twelfth year of this very successful program, which will be held at the Gold Coast Camp in Lake Worth, Florida from Saturday, February 16 to Monday, February 18, 2008.  UNITOWN will be facilitated by OneCommUnity, a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America.

For the most part, freshmen, sophomores and juniors are recruited, but seniors may be considered.  There is no charge to the students for the program as it is subsidized by local sponsors and the City of Coral Springs, but a $50.00 refundable deposit is required.  Students who are interested in participating should contact Lydia Cutz at 954-344-1150.
