January 9, 2009:Grocery Store Clerk Shot in Robbery

Coral Springs Police are investigating an armed robbery that resulted in a grocery clerk being shot late last night.


At approximately 9:55pm a white male wearing a black hooded shirt walked into the Grab and Go located at 11380 Sample Road. Once inside he produced and unknown type of rifle and demanded money from the clerk.  Before the clerk could turn over the money the suspect shot him in the leg.  The suspect then demanded money from another clerk and fled the store with a determined amount of cash.


The clerk, Nabil Gamout, 29, of Coral Springs was transported to North Broward Medical Center in critical condition.


The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, thin build wearing a black hooded shirt. He was last seen running south behind the store. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
