Celebrating 15 years in Coral Springs, the Giving Tree project brings together community members to collect and distribute toys, nonperishable food and cash to those less-fortunate families in our community. The official kick-off ceremony will be Monday, November 16 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Mall, 9239 W. Atlantic Blvd.
This year’s kick-off is also tied to the Buy Coral Springs campaign for a second year, providing an opportunity to support local businesses for a cause. Buy Coral Springs is a partnership between the City and the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce aimed at keeping local dollars in local businesses that are the heart and core of the community. The Giving Tree serves as a reminder for everyone to buy in the community and for the community.
The Giving Tree is co-sponsored by City Hall in the Mall, Turtle Creek Wal-Mart and Advanced Cable Communications. Donations of food, toys and money will be accepted at City Hall in the Mall through December 14. Items donated by Wal-Mart are shaped into the well-known tree centerpiece.
“The tree is a reminder that the holidays are a wonderful time to share with those who are less fortunate,” said Marie Giacalone, senior community relations coordinator at City Hall in the Mall.
