June 15, 2010 Suspects Arrested For Armed Home Invasion
Coral Springs Police arrested three suspects in reference to an armed home invasion robbery that occurred early this afternoon.
Approximately 1:45pm police received a 911 call from the victim advising that 2 suspects forcefully entered his residence located at the 7800 block of NW 40 Street. The victim, Preston Brayboy, 31 advised that suspect, Dave Leachman, 26, of Lauderhill knocked on his front door. When he opened the door Leachman asked for someone that does not live there. As Brayboy turned his back to close the door Leachman struck him in the head and entered the residence. The second suspect, Jerome Grant, 21, of Fort Lauderdale smashed the rear slider and entered the residence at the same time. Grant displayed a firearm at which time a physical altercation occurred. Brayboy was able to flee the residence and call 911. Grant and Leachman fled the residence in a 2007 red Dodge Charger.
Coral Springs Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the Mobile located at 5740 Wiles Road. Suspects Grant and Leachman fled on foot while the driver Nathan McDonald, 25, of Coconut Creek stayed inside the vehicle. Suspect Grant was apprehended inside the Target located at 4400 SR 7 and Suspect Leachman was apprehended at the McDonalds located at 4480 SR 7.
All three suspects are being charged with Armed Home Invasion Robbery and suspects Grant and Leachman are also being charged with Resisting Without Violence.
Two firearms were recovered inside the vehicle.
