September 8, 2010: Fire Academy offers minimum standards fire course
 

The Coral Springs Fire Training Academy is offering a Minimum Fire Standards Course starting on Monday, September 20. This 450-hour course runs for 13 consecutive weeks, and meets Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $2,400 for the course and other fees apply.

Applications are available at www.CoralSpringsFireAcademy.org, under Applications and must be submitted by Wednesday, September 8. Interested participants must read and understand the requirements before submitting an application. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis. Bunker gear may be rented for the entire duration of the class.
        
The Physical Agility Test (PAT) is available on Sunday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m. Participants interested in a practice class for the PAT can do so on Friday, September 10 at 6 p.m. Please note that all medical exams must be completed at MedExpress Urgent Care, located at 1809 N. University Drive, Coral Springs.
