The internationally acclaimed United States Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus of Washington, DC, will continue its long history of presenting free public performances when it appears at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Wednesday, October 27 at 7 p.m. The concert is co-sponsored by the City of Coral Springs and Friends of Music, Inc.
The Field Band travels thousands of miles each year throughout the nation and abroad, keeping the will of the American people behind the members of the armed forces and supporting diplomatic efforts around the world. Ten local students will be selected to perform with the band.
Since its formation in 1946, the Field Band has performed in all 50 states and in more than 30 countries on four continents.
Free tickets will be available for Coral Springs residents only starting October 1 through October 20. Tickets will be available to the general public from October 21 until the day of the concert at City Hall, 9551 W. Sample Road; City Hall in the Mall, 9239 W. Atlantic Blvd.; and the Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive. There is a limit of four tickets per family and persons must present a photo ID when picking up tickets.
In exchange for tickets, people are asked to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for the City’s annual Thanksgiving baskets, which will be distributed to needy families in the community.
