On Tuesday, September 21, the City Commission recognized Joseph Eikenberg for his service to our Planning and Zoning Board, which provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding any amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and acts as a local planning agency.
“I want to thank the members of the board and all those involved in the process to make Coral Springs the premier city in which to live,” Eikenberg said.
City Commissioners also declared the week of October 3 through October 9 as Fire Prevention Week in Coral Springs. This year, the Fire Department is reminding families that smoke alarms save lives. During the month of October, the Coral Springs Fire Department will be doing fire prevention shows at all of our schools.
“Please remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors to make sure they are working properly,” Fire Marshal Larry Archacki said. For additional tips, call 954-346-1253 or visit coralsprings.org/fire.
The Commission also recognized Detective Scott Myers for his recent promoted to sergeant. Myers is a graduate from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He began his career with CSPD in 1998 as a Law Enforcement Officer in the Patrol Unit. In 2006 he became a detective in the General Investigation Unit, and in 2008 was transferred to the Special Investigation Unit.
