October 28, 2010:Fire Academy offers new part-time minimum standards fire course
 

The Coral Springs Fire Training Academy is offering a part-time Minimum Fire Standards Course starting on Saturday, January 15. This 450-hour course runs for 27 consecutive weeks, and meets Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. one Friday a month from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $2,450 for the course and other fees apply.

Applications are available at www.CoralSpringsFireAcademy.org, under Applications and must be submitted by Monday, December 6. Interested participants must read and understand the requirements before submitting an application. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis. Bunker gear may be rented for the entire duration of the class.
 
The Physical Agility Test (PAT) is available on Sunday, December 19 at 8:30 a.m. Participants interested in a practice class for the PAT can do so on Friday, December 10 at 6 p.m. Please note that all medical exams must be completed at MedExpress Urgent Care, located at 1809 N. University Drive, Coral Springs.
