Mayor Roy Gold was selected to serve for the sixth year on the 2011 National League of Cities Leadership Training Council, this time as the Vice Chair.
The principal mission of the Leadership Training Council is to provide guidance and direction for the National League of Cities' Leadership Training Institute and to serve as a vehicle for the National League of Cities leadership positions.
Council members identify leadership development needs along with the professional trainers and recognized experts skilled in conducting the Leadership Training Institute seminars held in conjunction with the annual NLC conferences.
“It's an honor to serve as Vice Chair with this extraordinary group of officials from around the country,” Mayor Gold said. “We have the opportunity to develop training and leadership courses that benefit leaders and make them more able to serve their individual communities.”
The Leadership Training Council consists of elected and appointed officials from across the United States. Council members, appointed by the president of the National League of Cities, serve a one-year term.
