A Coral Springs resident was killed in a three-car accident that occurred late this afternoon at the intersection of Wiles Road and NW 87 Ave.
Preliminary investigation shows that around 3:10 p.m. a 2001 Buick being driven by Raymond Carmody, 65, of Coral Springs and his grand daughter Gwendolyn Hall, 6, who was a rear seat passenger were traveling west on Wiles Road attempting to turn south on NW 87 Ave. As Carmody proceeded to turn left, a 2005 Dodge being driven by Benjamin Colon, 27, of Fort Lauderdale struck the passenger side of their vehicle. Colon was traveling east on Wiles Road in the left through lane at the time of the accident. After the impact, Carmody’s vehicle struck a 97 Toyota being driven by Delma Iris, 40, of Fort Lauderdale who was waiting on NW 87 Ave to turn east on Wiles Road.
Hall was pronounced dead on scene. Carmody and Colon were both transported to North Broward Medical Center in serious condition and Iris was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center in stable condition.
