Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the City’s Car Show on Saturday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show, sponsored by Project CS Teen Car Club and co-sponsored by Auto Works Collision and Paint, Inc., will be held at the Sportsplex, across from the Tennis Center. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
This year, there will be an Urban Art Competition open to all high school students from noon to 2 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to display their artistic skills on a canvas provided by the City. Participants must bring their own spray paint. This year’s theme for the challenge is “My Coral Springs” – show us what you love about your City!" All entries will be judged based on the theme for creativity. Any students interested must pre-register at the Coral Springs Gymnasium by March 18.
The show will feature cars of all types and models. There will be vendors, bounce houses, demonstrations by our Fire and Police Departments, face painting and carnival game and entertainment throughout the day, including a DJ. The Florida Panthers Party Patrol, presented by West Boca Medical Center, North Shore Medical Center and Delray Medical Center, will also display their tricked out Party Mobile. This interactive gaming vehicle holds three flat screen televisions and PlayStation 3 video game systems. Spectators are also encouraged to enter the raffle for their chance to win a Stephen Weiss autographed puck.
Anyone who thinks his or her car has what it takes and would like to enter it in the show should call 954-345-2204. Cost to enter is $20. Trophies will be awarded to winners in multiple categories. Any business interested in setting up a 10’ x 10’ booth for $40 should also call 954-345-2204.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Project CS and the group’s efforts toward customizing confiscated vehicles.
