Beginning on Monday, February 21, the City of Coral Springs will accept applications from non-profit organizations interested in receiving grant funding to produce special events for the benefit of Coral Springs residents, under the Special Events Funding Program. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 14.
Applicants must have documentation of 501C(3) status and incorporation as a business in the State of Florida. Events must be held between April 1, 2011 and September 30, 2011 to qualify for this second round of funding for fiscal year 2011. Applicants may request up to a maximum of $2,000, but final amounts will be decided based on committee recommendation.
Events must be held in the City of Coral Springs. Applications will be accepted in the following categories: cultural, educational, business, health and environmental. Events should be of broad interest to the community at large and must be held on a single day or as a weekend celebration. Please note that programs held on a regular basis or fund-raisers are not eligible under this program. Some smaller sporting events may be considered although larger sports events are handled by the Sports Commission. To contact the Sports Commission, please call 954-344-1841.
Applications are now available at City Hall, 9551 West Sample Road and City Hall in the Mall, located in the Coral Square Mall. Applications can also be downloaded at www.CoralSprings.org/SpecialEventsFunding. Applications must be turned in by 5 p.m. on March 14, 2011.
