Following an extensive national search, the City of Coral Springs has named Curlie Matthews as Director of Information Services. Matthews was most recently the Chief Information Officer for the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he successfully established a number of technology programs that enhanced public safety systems, increased staff productivity and improved the delivery of city services.
“We are pleased to welcome Curlie and we look forward to leveraging his experience and expertise to enhance City technology and better serve our customers,” City Manager Erdal Donmez said.
Matthews had been with Colorado Springs since 2007, and prior to that position served as the first CIO for the City of Henderson, Nevada. Preceding his move to the public sector, Matthews held the position of Network Engineering Manager at Disney Worldwide Service (the technology unit of the Walt Disney Company).
“I consider it a privilege to work with the management team in Coral Springs. I look forward to using my business and technical knowledge to help the City improve the delivery of services to our residents and businesses,” Matthews said.
Matthews majored in History during his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University, and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California as well as an MBA from California Lutheran University.
