Lifesaving Commendation – Officer Michael Yanavok

In August of 2010, Officer Yanavok was sent to a call in reference to a child having difficulty breathing. Officer Yanavok administered CPR to a nine-month old infant who appeared limp and unresponsive. Officer Yanavok gave rescue breaths for several minutes until relieved by EMS. The infant was transported to CSMC where efforts to save her life continued. The doctors claimed that the infant had been in respiratory failure and would have likely died were it not for Officer Yanavok's efforts.
